Happy First Birthday, To Us!

Happy First Birthday, To Us!

Blockchain Centre Vilnius just celebrate its first birthday. We strived to establish connections in European, Asian and Australian markets. Today we are working with partners from 14 countries: the UK, Poland, Estonia, Israel, Switzerland, Malta, US, Canada Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, China and Lithuania.

Blockchain Centre Vilnius opened a year ago. We aimed to engage with regulators and policy makers proactively addressing the challenges linked to blockchain technology. In November the European Commission invited Blockchain Centre Vilnius to become a founding member of the European Association of Trusted Blockchain Applications.  We sit around the same table with such companies like Deutsche Bhan, Shell, Ripple, MAERSK, Airbus, Philips, Schneider Electric, Fujitsu, Accenture and others. Together we are working on the future of blockchain in Europe.  We are very proud to be an important part of this process.

Blockchain Centre Vilnius opened a year ago. We promised to connect international investors with business.  We advice companies on technology, tax, legal and government related issues; some EUR 5.000.000 of investments were generated through our centre over 2018. 30 startups worked with us since their initial stages. Not bad for first year of work for a not for profit private initiative!

Blockchain Centre Vilnius opened a year ago. We planned to organise events bringing together and solidifying the community of blockchain professionals. During 2018 we organised 71 events, with more than 170 speakers from 40 countries.  Some 6850 people came to our events. Quite impressive!

We like to celebrate in style. We have organised a conference (see the pics from the conference) on blockchain trends and tendencies.  The conference was attended by ministers, ambassadors, our partners, politicians, accademia and journalists.  We had great panels and you can read more about one of them in this article. The conference finished with a closing speech by the Mayor of Vilnius Remigijus Šimašius.  ‘Happy first birthday Blockchain Centre Vilnius! Many returns!’ the Mayor finished his speech.  Thank you dear Mayor, and thank you to all who were with us during our birthday and during our first year.  We appreciate this a lot! It has been a great year to all of us! We are looking forward to working with you together!
