In September, Lithuania will host #SWITCH! 2018!
The event will feature keynote speeches and discussions on blockchain technology, ICOs, artificial intelligence, cyber security and many other topics. #SWITCH! is the largest non-profit ICT and entrepreneurship event in the Baltic States and is expected to attract over 15,000 participants to the Litexpo exhibition and congress centre.
“We have an opportunity for the best and brightest in their field to present their experiences and knowledge”, – says Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and initiator of the event Antanas Guoga.
Professionals will have access to an exclusive network of important contacts as this year’s program will focus on digital market analysis and blockchain. Some of the main topics will cover the latest examples of the impact of blockchain technology on industry efficiency and transparency, its benefits in the supply chain sector and the speed and direction of intelligence progress. Trends for 2019 will be forecasted by top-level specialists such as technology-generating and utilising companies, successful entrepreneurs and visionaries for the digital future.
The event will also cover regulatory environment topics such as cryptocurrency analysis, ICOs, regulation, and opportunities within the digital market for fintech companies. These topics will be discussed by the European Parliament, the European Commission, the European Central Bank, Lithuanian and other national governments and global companies such as IBM, Google, Skycop and TransferWise.
Free technology event for young people!
The #SWITCH! youth program and technology and science fair will be a showcase of inspirational success stories aimed at motivating attendees to connect with the digital world and interact with technological innovation experiences. At the fair, participants will be able to learn how to fly drones, try 3D printers, participate in robot fights and various other advanced technology simulators. Best of all the #SWITCH! youth program is free for everyone!

Universities, colleges, vocational schools and non-formal education institutions from all over Lithuania will present technology or business-related study programs at the #SWITCH! science fair. This will be for all young minds, from school children to university students, and in particular, for girls who are already working towards a career in technology market specialties.
Kaunas University of Technology, Kaunas Information Technologies School, Vilnius College, Kaunas College, Šiauliai College, A. Stulginskis University, and more formal, and informal education Institutions have already confirmed that they will be participating in this years science fair!
The educational program is not just for teachers!
Business leaders, educational communities, teachers and specialists working in the education sector are invited to participate in the #SWITCH! Education program. The main theme for this part of the event will be the development of public and business investment, as well as prospective employment in the digital age. A wide variety of interesting ideas involving technological education and integration into the modern educational system will be presented.
As in previous years, this year’s event will also feature the #SWITCH! Hackathon. Starting on September 19th, the 24 hour event will see developers, designers, product and business developers, and e-business enthusiasts work in teams to create new digital business initiatives.
